kaylee or kaylie

I like the name, I'd probably pick Kaylee if I were voting (hey, election day is tomorrow!). Personally I think Kaylee seems more straightforward and Kayleigh seems "fussy" but I think since there's no traditional spelling, anything goes. i love her name but regret the spelling. Yes, she will have to correct people's spellings, just like anyone named Lee/Leigh has to do. But then again, an entire generation of Kaylies will grow old together and by that time, it just may very well sound modern American. I meant to say I also think that Kaylie looks the least childish, followed for me by Kayleigh, then Kayley, then Kaylee--for all the same reasons as EVie mentioned. Not to make light of your problem, but I'd be  tempted to just draw one out of a hat & go with it. I'm surprised no one's suggested Kaleigh yet. It is also believed to be the transferred use of the anglicized Irish surname “O’Caollaidhe” (descendent of Caollaidhe). No matter what spelling she has, it'll always get messed up by people. But, speaking as a person with a name that has several spellings in use and who often has to spell it (although thankfully mine is the most traditional spelling and people do guess it right at least 50% of the time without being told), it's not a huge deal that affects my quality of life or anything, so I'd use it if that is really THE name for you guys. Honestly, it does seem like you are disagreeing on the equivalent of "Catherine with a C" vs "Katherine with a K". I think both Kaylee and Kayleigh are frequent enough spellings that although she'll have to correct people, it's not like she'll be correcting them to "Kailii" or something.
